Blackberry 7250 locked up
 

good morning,

I have a user that just handed me his blackberry 7250. It has locked up. I removed the battery and replaced it with another unit and still nothing. The screen is just locked. any suggestions on what i can do?

What is displayed on the screen? 505 or 507 error? Can you connect the handheld to the Desktop Manager?

on the screen is the regular desktop. The icons are all there but i cant move the trackball or when i press any letters or numbers, nothing happens. The date and time work but everything else is frozen.

also, when i try to call this phone it goes directly to vvoice mail

I would try to get a backup of the handheld using Desktop Manager. Then use JL_Cmder (see my signature) to completely format the device. Finally, reinstall the handheld software from scratch and restore data. If the problem continues, you probably have a hardware related issue. If your device is less then 1 year since purchase you can get a warranty replacement.

error 507 now displays on the screen

alrite here we go again..i downloaded the jl_cmdr and did a wipe
no os on it now..error 507
i went ahead and downloaded the latest version of desktop manager plus the os7520 file
i was able to synch the device with the latest software
i now get a desktop
but its still locked up...the time and date are fine..any ideas?
