I installed a program that crippled my BB a few weeks ago, requiring me to reinstall the OS. Before this mishap, I was running the Bharti version of the OS. Since I had to reinstall, figured I'd try the Telstra version of the OS. I am now running platform: 2.0.0.133 and app version: 4.1.0.309.

Since the upgrade I've noticed that I drop from EDGE to GPRS quite often....in the same places where I always had EDGE in the past. Not real sure why the software would make a difference, but nothing else has changed.

Here's something else that is VERY odd: when using the Zen theme it seems to stay in EDGE more than when I use the Cingular theme?!? Does that make any sense at all, or am I just nuts?

Has anybody experienced similar issues?

FYI....I am using Cingular in the Chicagoland area.

Have you tried to undo the changes and see if you still have the same issue?

Working with the BES administrators at my company has been a less than pleasant experience in the past. "Undoing the changes" will require reinstalling the old OS....which requires the BES guys to reset a BES password for enterprise activation afterwards. I'd like to avoid this if possible.

You can perform a wired activation as long as you're using the same device - just renew the encryption key and it *should* kickstart a reactivation. You may need to try it a few times, but I've never had that not work.
