I'm just new to the Blackberry and I have a few questions:

1) How do I make the phone vibrate? The vibrate profile just mutes everything.

2) I tried with my work outlook and my personal outlook, how do I send emails from outlook to my blackberry email address? I tried forwarding rules, but neither outlook works. I have sent emails directly from both to the phone and they work great, but it won't forward when someone sends me something. A complete idiots guide to this would be very helpful.

if the phone does not vibrate in vibrate mode.............the return it. and get a new one.

This may sound dumb, but I was looking a the wrong thing for vibrate, im used to it being listed as a ring tone, with this, you select for in and out of holster, but the forwarding problem still continues

Medicman, you can set the phone vibrate whether in or out of the holster--it is completely customizable for vibrating or giving you a tone, OR both--whether it is in OR out of the holster, OR both places.

As far as forwarding emails from your Outlook at home and work... I am not sure why you would want to receive emails in that manner, but that's your business. But if you want to do that (rather than set up your BB to receive the Push e-mail as it is intended--read the manual to do that) then configure the "Rules" function in both your Outlooks to forward all email to your BB address. That is a simple process in Outlook under Rules. In Outlook 2003, click on Tools, then click on Rules and Alerts and start with a New rule as you would like it setup.

I have a similar problem. Re-director has been giving problems so I am trying to forward incoming emails to my gmail account, which are then picked by my BB. I am able to forward manualy, to my blackberry and/or gmail accounts, local emails coming in via our Exchange Server and Outlook Pop1 emails and these do reach my BB. However as soon as I set up rules to do so nothing works. Nothing reachs Gmail or the BB.

Any suggestions?

FYI....Just an update...

It seems I found the solution to my problem by changing, in Outlook, the order of the mail accounts. POP1 is now the 1st account in the list instead of Exchange Server. Not sure why this make a differnce but forwarding to gmail via a rule now works.

Spoke too soon. Still not working to perfection...local not being forwarded.
