I was trying to update the software on my phone because i ket getting error 498, 499, and 500. The software installed and phone was working fine. All the sudden it said fatel exit or something like that, and the phone just shut off. I tried everything reset, take batt, and nothing. I hooked it up to the phone again and the light will come on, but the phone wont turn on. The computer beeps like it detects it, but the phone still wont turn on. After a few minutes a white screen comes up and it says error 322. I cant even get the phone to power on. Im really frustrated! Anybody else having these problems?

It was working fine and then just freaked out. Can anyone help??

Welcome to BB Forums. Probably a new thread would work better, but anyhow...

Wipe out the BB (search for JL_CMDR or Javaloader in these forums). Follow the instructions.

Make sure you have a copy of the latest handheld OS for the 7100 downloaded and installed on your PC.

Is there an appthat can wipe it without getting to the hour glass? Mine flalshes red lights twice and then throws a device error 322. The jl_cmder javaloader isnt seeing the phone :( any ideas?

JL_Cmdr runs an application called Javaloader. Javaloader is the only app to wipe out a BB totally. Make sure when running it that Desktop Manager is not running.

heres what you need to do if you cant use JavaLoader, Im an Electrical Engineer so I take a more "hands on" approach, you will need a t5 torx wrench to open up the phone, there are screws behind the battery cover, and behind the little blue thing on the back (it just pops off to reveal the screw holes behind). once you have the cover off, there are four screws that hold the chasis to the mainboard of the phone, they are also t5 torx bits. take them out. once you have seperated the mainboard from the chasis, look down near the bottom on the back and you will see a tiny watch type battery that is solderd to the board its not much bigger than this (O) use a soldering iron to remove it, being careful not to damage the tiny resistors next to it. then try putting you main battery in and you shoud get a 507 error (no OS) wich means you have sucessfully wiped the system without using JavaLoader

now go pat yourself on the back and try to re attach the tiny battery (good luck)
