last Friday I had my Cingluar number ported over to my
Nextel Blackberry 7100i. (why pay a cell phone bill if my company will pay it, right?)
well, the phone works fine... maing receiving calls etc. the problem is with text messages, and this is a HUGE problem as we rely on them heavily at work.
it seems that if i send a text message (mms) from my device to another Nextel device, the message is received and i can get a reply. if i send a message to any other device (cingular etc.), im lucky if 1 out of 10 tests actually go through. and receiving from another device is even worse.
biggest problem is that i need to have IM's from aol/aim sent to the device. with aim/aol you can simply address an IM to any text capable device by phone number like this: +12124445432. but ever since i moved my number from cingular i receive an error saying "your message could not be delivered" immediately when trying to send it.
i spoke with tech support at blackberry and tried the whole "3 master resets" trick and it didnt work. the guy then told me that this is a known problem and RIM is "working on it".... huh????
does anyone have this problem or have a fix?
