Default Wireless Sync... good or bad?

Please Login to Remove!

Ok, so my company changed servers and all that i guess and now EVERYTHING is wireless sync... contacts, calender, tasks... etc...

I do like this.. but also dont, didnt want my personal contacts and all on my work outlook....

What happens IF i lose my BB, and someone tries to enter the PW (btw i HAVE to have a pw on it now, cant disable it... i guess thats good, but its a pain i think) wrong the 10 times or whatever and the BB erases itself... will that also erase my contacts on my outlook!?!?!

Entering the password 10 times and wiping the device will not affect anything in Outlook.

Do you know what your password is? If not, contact your BES Admin and he/she can reset it for you.

No, i know what it is... I set it (i just no longer have the option to disable it.. and the longest time out i can chose is 30 mins)

Im just saying that BEFORE it was required and a NEW IT poilcy was made i would enter the wrong pw and i would see 1/10... 2/10... 3/10....

NOW i get 2/9 and it doesnt count a bad password unless i put in something that could be a pw.. if i put one letter and enter, one letter and enter... it doesnt count it, i guess its the new IT policy?

Even when my 6230 is in the holster some keys will get pressed, and it will think I have attempted a password entry. You might want to check with other blackberry users in your org and see if they only have 9 attempts as well. I believe that's a setting that can be modified on the BES via an IT policy

This is why I always keep work stuff and personal stuff separate. It means that I have two Blackberries but there's zero chance of cross-contamination and no chance of getting a retrictive IT policy on my personal Blackberry.

Two blackberries is as pointless as having a BB and a phone.... IMO
