Can i assign a different sound to my email notification and a different sound for my Text message notification?

on my 8700c in the profile it looks like I can assign different sounds to different message types

and by using Exceptions, you can force a specific tone for a specific contact entry (person)

Yes. You must edit your profile. There are options for different sounds and alerts for different types of messages and calls.

FYI, in case you don't know...texts are listed as "SMS" under each profile. "Messages" are e-mails.

You can assign different tones for anything. For example, I have one for e-mail, one for PIN messages and one for BlackBerry Messenger. There are many to choose from.
