I'm going through the FAQ to set up my 8700 with tmobile to use as a modem.

<Connect Your BlackBerry
<Make sure your BlackBerry is connected by USB cable, and your BlackBerry <Handheld Manager is running (just launch BlackBerry Desktop to run it.)

When you turn your BB on does the Handheld manager normally run automatically? My BB is stock.

<Verify The Modem Driver Is Functioning
<Go to Control Panel -> Phone & Modem Options. In the Modems tab, you <should see a new Standard Modem on a new port

When I do this I don't see a new modem being listed.

Any ideas why not?

Do you have Destop Manager running during these steps. Think you need to.

I thought the Desktop Manager started automatically when I turned on the BB.

If not how do start it?
