Default Thinking about Going T-Mobile with 8700G - Questions!

Please Login to Remove!

Hey guys,
We are going out of the country to the following places (most are just for airport switches) - Frankfurt Germany, Moscow Russia, Bishkek Kyrgyzstan, Almaty Kazakhstan

My question is this: Do you all use your 8700g through T-mobile for internet? How is it? Does it have better international coverage than Cingular? I'd love to hear more!

Hi you should check on internet usage while traveling overseas. I mean TM should work in most European areas (as they are part of Deutsch Telecom out of Germany) but their international add on plan 'supposedly' only covers email and not internet. You may know this already.

However, that being said...many people have gone overseas, used their internet and have never been charged. But if you ask TM, they will tell you that when it comes to data...if the phone company in the country you are traveling in doesn't indicate a difference between email data and internet data (which they sometimes don't) then TM USA doesn't know the difference and may consider it all email data, so you won't get charged. BUT that is not a given so you should assume you WILL get charged and then be happy when/if you don't. I forget what the cost is per KB or MB but you could call TM to find out.

There are other threads on this if you do a search...just check TM overseas or something like that.
