I was wondering, if any one is familiar with a Treo, the phone automatically locks up and will not let you use the phone unless you press the middle button, no password, just the middle scroll button, I was wondering if there was anything similiar or a way I can do this with my 8700, being that I've dialed on accident a couple of times, any help? thanks

Look for the Keyboard lock icon (a padlock).

You can do what 'wannabb' suggested above if you don't use a holster. If you do use a holster, have it set to lock upon putting in the holster. So it's automatic. You will have to unlock it everytime you take out of holster, which can be a pain, but saves on accidental calls.

You can also set one of the convience keys to lock the device. Go to Options > Screen/Keyboard to set it.

I just setup the automatic lock when holstered - I like that feature a lot.

...but why lock it when it's in the holster? I don't; considering that when it's in the holster it's asleep anyway...

The idea is that, as you're fumbling to get it in the holster, the magnet locks it so that you don't inadvertently hold down a key and do a speed-dial...

Use the keyboard shortcut 'k'.
