Hi
so i read a lot on this forum of people just emailing themselves stuff if they want a new background or ringtone. Now sometimes when other people send me photos, it works fine but other times it show up as if i don't have an attachment. of course if i check the message on my computer i can see the photo. I have an unlocked 8700 with cingular. any ideas?

If you want to use a certain pic as wallpaper, you may need to resize it. Use one of the online resizers - click here: BlackBerry Cool xxx187; Blackberry Wallpaper Generator.

It will allow you to upload your pic, let you check off what BB series phone you have and then it will automatically fit the picture in the proper dimensions. It'll ask for your BB email and then email you with a link to the resized picture. You just click the link, and then save the pic then select pic as your wallpaper.

Don't worry, it's super easy and asks you all the questions. I do this with all my pics and works like a charm!

Dont you need to have your berry connected with a BES server to open attachments? I'm BIS and cannot open either.

No, you can definately open attachments even if you're on BIS. The file needs to a file that the BB recognizes, like the BB won't download a ZIP file attachment but will download a picture file that is attached.

It's weird...when I first got my BB I couldn't open PDFs. I called someone at TM or RIM (I forget now) and they said that PDFs can't be viewed on my BB. Now I have some PDFs that I can just see elements of and some I can see as a whole. I assume it has something to do with the size? Anyway...it's an ongoing discovery
