Default SMS-Email and Email- SMS

Please Login to Remove!

Hey guys how are you, new to the site, i introduced myself in the general discussion forum. I am a new 7130c owner and so far i love the thing.

I have a texting question. Reason I got a a BB is to eliminate the use of texting all together becasue it was racking up my bill. So I know with for example most Motorola phones, when typing out a text, you can send it to an email address instead of a phone number. If I receive that text/email from the sender, will that go against my sms/text count or just be a regular email of my data plan?

and visa-versa, if i reply to the [email address] via email, will that count against me as a text/sms?

Get what I am saying?

If your sending e-mails I don't think you will be charged for Text Messaging charges. Because you have to pay for the BB Data Plan so E-mail is included with the Data Plan Charge. However text messages are different you pay so many cents to send and receive one. If you like to text message alot I would look into adding Unlmited Text Messaging to your plan.

i think it would register as an email on your end and a SMS on the person receiving...that is, i think it would be included in your data plan, not charged as a text message.

Thumbs up Email SMS

The US text messaging plans are cheap compared to the rest of the world. You need to sign up for a bundle. Some charge you to receieve text messages, some dont.

There is a great tool, which allows you to send a text messages to 2.3 BILLION phones. there are only 5 million black berry users - do the math. Anyways, it sits in Microsoft Outlooks ..check it out

I use email and PIN most of the time, but my girlfriend and other friends don't have either, so I have to use text.

I just have a 200 plan, which pretty much is all I need.
