Does anyone have a guide or tutorial (with or without pictures) for taking a BB 7290 apart?

No. Just take yours apart and be careful. IF you are not comfortable doing this, why would you even try?

I've done it and it was no big deal.

I'm comfortable with it, but having a guide when taking consumer electronics apart helps prevent breaking the plastic clips that other potentially breakable components that are sometimes not obvious.

Take out the 4 screws on the back and the 2 in the battery area. Then pinch the sides with your fingers and listen for popping. At the top, the case should separate a little. Then just pull it apart from the top. I've done hundreds literally this way and never damaged anything. Just watch for the button on the top falling out.

You'll probably hear scary noises when pulling it apart, especially from the bottom of the case but it's fine.

There's 1 screw that holds the antenna in place and another screw in the center (It's been about 6 months) that holds the screen in.

There are more screws around the edges that hold in the metal plate.
