I'm a new user and just looking for a little guidance if its not too much trouble. Anything you can answer will be much appreciated...

1. Is there a way to set email replies so they do not quote the original message?

2. Can the audible notification for a missed call, missed email or missed SMS be set to repeat continuously instead of just 1 to 3 times? (my Moto Razr V3 did this)

3. Is there a way to view attachments like .pdf files in their properly formatted appearance? When I open documents they appear so jumbled up that I hesitate to reply back with approval until I get to my desktop and can view them properly.

4. Is there any way to add voice activated speed dial to a contact (train the person's name into the phone then speak it and the number is dialed).

5. A more basic one -- how do you transfer ringtones from your computer into the Blackberry?

Yes, when you are in the edit portion of your reply message to the sender, click the trackwheel and click on DELETE ORIGINAL TEXT.

Yes, you must have a translator such as RepliGo loaded. Search for it on this board.

Search/find the sticky thread under aftermarket software. If the ringtone is on your computer and is compatible with your 8700, e-mail yourself.

A work-around is to use voice-dialing service from your carrier, if offered.

I have tried to e-mail myself mp3 and midi files. I get the e-mail, however I do not have any options on downloading or saving the attached file. I have an 8700C.

Don't hijack peoples' threads.

You can't e-mail them to yourself. You have to upload them to the web somewhere and point your BB browser to them.
