Default How to delete a Saved Message

Please Login to Remove!

I've saved a few messages (clicked Save with the message open), but I'm now having problems deleting these messages. I go into Messages / View Saved Messages, and moved to the desired message, then click the trackwheel, choose Delete, but nothing happens. How do I delete a message in the Saved Messages?

Sadly, no, it had no impact - the messages are still in the Saved folder. Quite strange. I even get the Delete confirmation message, so it knows that I am, indeed, attempting to delete a message, but clicking on the Delete button on the 'Delete saved item?' message window does nothing.

Not that it should make a difference but...

Scroll to the message and press the "DEL" button on the Keyboard...not trackwheel--delete...then select YES via the enter key. See if that works.

Also, a battery taken out and put back usually clears most problems...try that.

Cool

Airmark1, thanks, but I had tried that also, to no avail. I've also pulled the battery, and still no luck. How does one delete a Saved Message? I've now got several in that folder, and I can't get rid of them...

Thanks, mattlane. Interestingly enough, when I go into Advanced, Saved Email Messages is greyed out, and when clicking on it, the Clear button becomes inactive.

Really looked promising, but for some reason my device just doesn't want me to delete these messages. I'd really like to be able to clear them out...

Have you popped the battery out and then back in?
That sometimes releases messages that can not be deleted.

Yep, tried that one too. (As we've all learned, 'pull the battery' is the BB equivalent of the PC's Ctrl-Alt-Del, when nothing else seems to work.) I went ahead and tried it again just now, and still, nothing happens. I have no other problems with my 8700g, I just can't get any saved messages to delete.

Actually, on an 8700, ALT CAP DEL is the equivalent of CTRL/ALT/DEL.
Pulling the battery is just sometimes easier.

I don't know if it is pure coincidence, but I just loaded Blackberry Desktop 4.2, and I'm now able to delete my saved messages. Most strange, but most welcome!

Pulling the sim and battery seems to work some blackberry magic at times.

Default Clearing email

Had the same problem myself. I found that, with desktop 4.2, if I went through the backup process, choose "custom", selected the message database on the blackberry side, copied it to the desktop (just in case), then selected message on the blackberry side and hit "clear" it made the bb message database go away. Works for me.
