I have recently bought a tomtom500 and have been trying to pair that with my 8700g, from 8700g I can see the tomtom go 500 but when I try to pair and give 0000 as passkey it gives a message 'unable to pair device'. Have upgraded software at tomtom 500 as well but no luck.. any suggestions

You have to pair the two devices as if you were pairing a bluetooth headset because that's all the TOMTOM will do with your BB. Select Add Device on your BB and select the Discovering mode on your TOMTOM. If you try it in the other direction with the TOMTOM trying to find the BB, it won't work. You need the BB to find the TOMTOM.

I tried that too. It finds TTM Go 500 and while pairing asks for passkey. I enter '0000' and press enter.. It does not accept the passkey and says 'unable to pair with Tomtom go 500'. Have tried a combination of passkeys but does not work. Is there a default passkey ?
How do I find out whats the passkey for the device ?

Did I speak to you on friday about this??? I had a customer ask me the same thing,,, I couldnt tell him much though b/c tmo does not "support" it. Ive been told that if you upgrade the tomtom software to 5.42 it should work.

Sure would be nice if the 8700 would support TOM TOM like the Palm does.
