hi, has anyone verified that 8707 does not support EDGE?

someone in the US that has cingular and a 8707 verify this?

i am deciding whether to get a 8700 or a 8707... since i travel a lot to asia.. including japan..i would like to have 1 phone that covers japan, china, taiwan, vietnam and then in US.

thanks for the help!

Unfortunately, the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) makes sure that we stay at least 2-years behind the European Union when it comes to cellular and data communication technology.

Why is EDGE support so important to you? I use a 8707v precisely because it does work in Japan, EU and US. I don't use it as a modem so don't care about the connection speed (GPRS works just fine).

Default will let you know next week!

i got like 5 SIM cards... one from US, one from China, one from HK, one from Taiwan, and one for Vietnam....

so we'll see if it will work with the 8707v with all the different sim cards...i think it should since they are all GSM.. as long as the phone is unlocked..
.... and we'll see if it will work in Japan too!!!
which it should.. since it's 3G.
