Hi all! I'm new to all this, so please bear with me...

I just got a Blackberry 7250 from my work and so far so good. The problem is, I'm somewhat of a customization whore. I used to have a Sanyo 8300, and knew how to make ringtones and everything for it. However, I'm hitting a wall when it comes to my new Blackberry.

First problem: Formats

I've been told that my phone supports MP3 files as ringers, so editing and encoding isn't an issue, however I'm also under the impression that there may be other, better formats it can use.

Second Problem: Uploading

I attempted to use an uploader to download the MP3 ringtone I'd created, but it came up w/an error message. Something about my browser not supporting what I was trying to do.

Okay, so in a nutshell, I'm in need of information on what formats my phone uses for ringtones, and how to get them from my computer, onto my phone.

If your enjoyment of your blackberry depends on your being a customization whore, your whore days are over.

My... aren't we pleasant... and I don't believe I ever said the ONLY way I was going to enjoy my Blackberry was if I was able to customize it completely. I simply asked two questions, what format I can use for ringtones, and how I could upload new ones to it. If I was asking too much, just let me know now and I'll take my questions elsewhere.

The 7250 only supports midi ringtones.. in other words, they all suck.. it does support various themes and some of those are quite nice..

You'll need the plasmic theme loader though.

a couple of quick searches and you'll be on your way.

If you're on verizon, see if they'll upgrade you to an 8703 when they come out in a few weeks.. then you'll be much happier
