I just can't live with the scratches. Cingular was no help to me. The only option Cingular gave me was to buy a new phone at full retail price. For a 2 month old phone, this is not acceptable to me. I wouldn't be so hard nosed about getting this issue resolved if I was at fault here. I really feel the poor design of the holster is what caused it to fall out and get scratched, due to NO fault of my own.
I have been in contact with Rim via e-mail about this issue, Actually customer support at blackberry.net. I initially e-mailed

, but customer support at blackberry.net e-mailed me back.
I tried to get them to just replace the housing and keypad but they refused and said they don't offer this to end customers. I even asked them to send me to an authorised repair center and I would pay for the parts. They said they do not have a local network of repair centers. Since Cingular woudn't help me, they finally caved and decided to replace it, but with a refurbished phone. So after many e-mails with rim customer support, they finally agreed to replace the phone. They will send me a refurbished phone.
At least it will be scratch free. I don't have any problems with refurbished phones. I have had good luck with them in the past. I have my new case coming. I will also order screen protectors. My new motto is never use the stock holster.
