Default 7130c message indicator

Please Login to Remove!

I upgraded my old 7100g to the 7130c and I've found that even after I delete messages the unread message indicator still shows with a number beside it. Is there a way to delete it? I've turned the device off and even rebooted, but it still shows "5" next to an envelope.

Thanks!

Sue

Default 7130c message indicator

I'm not sure if I've done everything for "Email Reconciliation", however, when I get a text or email message the unread message indicator goes up by one. When I read it, it goes back to "5". I've been thru all the folders and my voicemail to see if I have any unread messages, but all the folders are empty so I'm not sure where these "5" unread messages are.

do a battery pull, or delete the accounts in bis, and recreate them

Default me too

I JUST ran into the same problem and was about to make a post about it.

Has anything worked for you yet? I'm going to try reconciling now...

the "hidden message" thread (sorry, can't link to it) says to do a hard reset or select todays date in "all messages" and mark "all prior opened".. that last bit didn't work for me, but taking out the battery did.

Is there any way to report bugs like these to RIM?

Did you check to see if you had any unread messages in your saved messages folder?

When I'm in the car endangering my life and all those around me, I'll sometimes accidentally send emails to the Saved folder.
The new message indicator remains, and I search and search before checking that folder. You'd think I'd figure it out, but alas....
I've only had to resort to the battery pull method once to lose the indicator.

JoeBob:

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who accidentially saves them, knows that there could be unread saved messages, but still searches all the other folders

Before deleting anything, lilke Palbright and JoeBob said, check the Saved Messages folder (in messages click thumbwheel and choose View Saved Messages)....9 times outta 10, this is where the unread messages are.

battery pull should fix it if it's really something out of sync (vs. saved messages, etc.).
