My guess is that he is with Cingular and not T-Mobile. It will be very difficult to get an 8100 unlocked when they first come out. T-Mobile does want people to buy it and just carriers.

I'm torn too. Was about to pull the trigger on a 7130c but waited, then heard about 8100. I'm on Cingular too. Camera, not a biggie for me. I've used the one on my cell now maybe 5 times in a year. media player...whatever, I love my ipod. But, the form factor is what got me to the 8100. Now i'm trying to decide if i want to wait for Cingular to get thier version of the 8100. And, the question is...will they and if so how long will the Tmo exclusive be...

So ice come to the determination that the 7130 is the best BB I've ever used, the call quality is top notch and it looks pretty damn slick, and I'm very happy with it now that I've gotten adjusted to the suretype keyboard, and it actually looks like a phone instead of an airbag, now if I can get a sweet hands free like the one I saw on engadget today (the rubber band...ha ha ha) ill be set
