I don't believe there's a cost for it since it uses BlackBerry service...and you're already paying for that through your cell provider.

There isn't an additional cost to this unlike sms. It's paid for by your data plan.

The BlackBerry Messanger is using your BlackBerry data plan. IF you have an unlimited BlackBerry Data Plan then the BlackBerry Messanger is completely free on additional charges. If your do not have an unlimited plan you may end up with additional charges based on data usage.

I called Rogers CS about this same issue, since I could not find the answer anywhere. The CS rep told me PIN messages through BB Messenger use less than 1KB of data; approximately 5 messages add up to 1KB.

BB Messenger works via pin therefore it comes off of your data package. There is no seperate charge for it. Pinning uses miniscule amounts of data.
