Default New to Blackberry - 7290

Please Login to Remove!

Hey guys,

I'm new to Blackberry.

Just picked up a 7290 from T-Mobile (best plans hands down). Was thinking about getting the Treo 700p but discovered the 7290... great little package with just the stuff I need. Don't really need all the bells and whistles of the Treo.

Do you guys recommend any cases similar to the Speck skins??? I'm looking for something similar probably a clear version. Which ones are the best?

Also I was wondering how easy it would be to replace the housing case (T-Mobile 7290 comes in blue)... I wanted black (like Cingular's 7290). I noticed there was a forum sponsor that sold these. Anywhere else I can get an OEM housing for cheaper?

Thanks in advance for the help.

I have replaced the housing on a 7290 before. I used a torque bit labeled T-6 to remove the screws.

- ProMobility is your best bet for parts.

- Did you actually look at Speck? A quick search yielded this: SpeckProducts

Oh...and welcome!

Finally came today. Next day shipping is awesome. Been messing around with it while charging... prob the hardest part about new phones (24 hour initial charge!). Been customizing my settings. THe OS needs some gettting used to... I really need to learn how to use the shortcut keys.

For those who are looking for 7290 housings... I found another site besides promobility... its blackberryrepairshop.com. The housing + battery cover is cheaper here.

The cover swap is easy but dont try to remove it without the proper torque bit and be careful of the internal parts
