Default 8700g crashing more with blue tooth then without

Please Login to Remove!

I have had my 8700g since may and absolutely love it. I used to love using bluetooth until I got the 8700g. It seemed to crash and then reset two or three times a day when i had the bluetooth activated. Since I have stopped using the bluetooth it does not crash as much maybe about 1 every other week. Has anyone else had this problem?

Can someone direct me to a good link for setting up the BB 8700g as a modem?

My 8700g has never crashed while using my bluetooth headset and I use it for atleast thirty minutes per day. Your second question can be easily found by searching for "8700 Modem". Two dozen applicable threads will be at your fingertips.

I have yet to have a crash on my 8700g, and I leave Bluetooth on 24/7 on the device, and just turn my headset on when I need it and off when I don't.

I wish I did have an idea. I have been using the Plantronics since I got the 8700, and I just leave the BB with Bluetooth on, and the device trusted. Then when a call comes in, I turn on the headset if it is off. I have had conversations for up to two hours, and have had the headset on as long as an entire day, and have yet to see a single crash for any reason.

I have no idea what might be going right with my setup, or might be going wrong with your setup.

Post my 8700c crashes

I have an hbh-300 (I think) Sony/Erickson headset. The headset works great when on an actual call. I have two problems. First, the headset won't stay connected when not on a call. Second, my 8700c crashes/reboots sometimes when connecting or disconnecting from the headset.

Interestingly, I use bluetooth to sync my 8700 with Desktop Manager several times a day and that has never crashed the blackberry.
