Default Service Book Problems and SIM?

Has anyone heard of a SIM card problem leading to Service Book issues on a 7100i? I had serious issues last week with the Desktop Service Book and after many trials and tribulations, received a new 7100i this morning. Fired it up, reactivated on to the BES - no problems. Two hours later, can't read lengthy emails or view attachments or reply to email sent to the BES email address.

Frustrated to say the least...
