| BG...do you know when Cingular may get the 8100 and/or the 8800?
Do you have any pics of the Cingular 8100?
Thanks... | | Offline

| GSM is always implied! who wants to deal with a non-standard technology like cdma. Rest easy GSM is available in China, Japan, and everywhere else. GSM providers dont play those cdma activation games. Pop in a SIM and GO BB. Quote: |

| Very , very nice more advanced looking Blackberry . Good job RIM . i do however like the track wheel a little more than the " pearl " ball or whatever its called . probably since i'm stuck in my BB ways used to the track wheel . still i'm sure if and when i upgrade to this wonderful BB i'll probably get used to that and love it as well .

| I don't mind the cramped keyboard, as long as it's QWERTY. I'm using a 8700g now, and this would be a bit more cramped. But I've used a Treo 650 (before I switched over to BB), and typing on that was ok.
But I sampled an 8100 at a T-Mo store, and I have to say: I HATE that little trackball! A trackball is good for playing "Missile Command", but not much else.
I'm gonna stick with the side scroll wheel.

| wheel vs ball i agree....
the ball works on the 8100 because the phone is small narrow and thin/one handed design.
this full qwerty is for 2 handed typing (for most people)and thumb navigation via the wheel.
i have yet to try it (ball) but others have complained that there is no tactile feedback like the slight click of the wheel.
the wheel is one of the best features of all the bb...i dont get it????
i said it once, i'll say it again
this reminds me of when coke rolled out NEW COKE and then went back!
I COULD BE WRONG

| i would worry that i would drop it easier, i like the trackwheel because i know i always have to have a firm grip on the unit itself with a trackball my hand wouldnt be supporting the unit the same, and since its bigger than the 8100 i would worry about drops/someone knocking it out of my hand | | Offline

| Who drops their BB? Speaking of dropping your BB. What type of "crash" tests do these new BBs go through? They look like the screen would crack at the slightest drop. Any feedback on the QA process used would be interesting. | | Offline

I am just not sure this will be easy enough to use. But with bbSpell I suppose that's ok. | | Offline

| scroll wheel = RULES
8700 = Best phone I've EVER had
I would GLADLY take a slightly more buly 8800 if it meant keeping the scroll wheel on the side....nonetheless, I AM looking forward to the release of this phone! | | Offline
