Default Unlocking 8700G

Please Login to Remove!

I am confused about this.
I called Tmobile and explained to them I left a company that uses them. The blackberry is mine and will not use Tmobile I was signing up with Cingular. I asked them if they could unlock it. They asked me for the sim card number and emailed me the unlock code.
Now when I get my cingular phone and the new sim card can I still use this 8700? Or is there a device unlock code also? Please explain.

If you got the unlock code from T-Mobile, they should also have sent you instructions on how to unlock the code. Unlock the BB and it is unlocked forever. You can now put in a Cingular SIM card.

Yes I got the code from Tmobile but I dont know if I can put a Cingular sim card and have it work. NJ You really know your stuff so if you could shed some light on this that would be cool. If I can use a Cingular sim in it then I dont need to get rid of this. That would really help.

OK now you can delete this thread. Thanks dude. I am so happy not to be with Tmobile. That service is the worst out there. Only thing it has going for it is its cheap. Emails had hour long delays and phone service dropped a dozen calls a day. I didnt pay for it but Im still complaining. Id rather pay for Cingular. Thanks again NJ for clarifying it! Even if you are a bridge and tunnel guy. LOL
