I have responded to several posts and read through several posts but there is no consistent answer, so I figured I would post asking for help.

I have a BlackBerry 7130c, with the $79.95 unlimited data plan. I live in Chicago which is EDGE and 3G ready.

No matter what method I use to connect, Dial Up Tethering or Cingular Connection Manager Tethering, my speed is less then 100k. Most times its in the 50's-60 kbps, but when browsing web pages or checking e-mail is feels much slower (web pages just hang). I would rate a wired 56k connection as more consistent.

What if anything can I do to increase my speeds?

What speeds are other BlackBerry 7130c users getting using the connection manager, with the $79.95 service?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

The 7130 is not a 3G capable device, so your limited to the speeds of the EDGE network. EDGE is not really all the fast. If you want faster speeds you wait for a 3G device or switch to Verizon or Sprint and use EVDO.

How did you get Cingular Connection Manager to work, since the 7130C is reportedly not a "supprted" phone???

I installed it and it works fine, that is as soon as I upgraded to the $79 data plan. The Cingular Tech Support rep sent me the link to d/l the software and the instruction via e-mail.
