Default Cant set up internet email with Tmobile

Please Login to Remove!

I just got my BB yesterday. I called about 7pm to have the data plan added to my account. I was told it would take 24-48hrs to have it activated, but before I even hung up I was online with it. But hours later I still can't set up internet email.

I called about 11pm, 4hrs after it was activated to see what was up. I was put up to level 2 support and he checked and said my account was active with RIM/Blackberry (whoever the email goes through) He didn't know why I couldn't set it up but in the end just said "wait til the morning." So this morning I tried aagain and still no luck.

Does it really take 24-72hrs? (Guy at level 2 said up to 72, not 48) I guess I just find it hard to believe that it takes this long. When I try it from the BB or the website all I get is "an error occurred, please try again later."
Maybe it really does just take this long.

It can take that long for things to fully provision. I've never had provisioning take that long with Cingular, however.

Hi, I bought my BB this past summer and when I got home, set up my email. It took about a minute or so to set it up and then within 20 minutes I was getting email. I would say maybe try re-sending your service books (you can do a search here on the site for instructions) or you can go online at TMobile.com and sign in to your account, indicate your phone/device as a BB and then the support options should come up for you to not only resend your service books but also to set up your internet email. Good luck

I got my 8700g on Sunday and I called the TMO to add the data plan right the way. He told me it would take up to 72 hrs to activate the service. However, I was able to log into the tmo website and I could setup the email from the tmo website.

However, I did not try to set it up thru my bb internet browser. Additionally, did you check your TCP/IP setting? for some reasons, I had to put the followings in order to get the mini opera working. Oh well, it seems it might be off-topic discussion
