When did you buy the 7250 and who is your carrier? Older 7250's aren't equipped with EVDO out of the box: A software and PRL update is necessary.

Also, not all areas have EVDO coverage. Are you sure you're covered by EVDO?

^^ The PRL update must be done at a Bell World store that has a service centre.

Before visiting Bell, you should do the OS update yourself (if your device doesn't have 4.1) by visiting https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...646D38BC2145CA.

To check the OS version, go to OPTIONS then ABOUT. The latest Bell version is 4.1.0.303.

What is your location? There may not be EVDO where you are yet...

With Bell, you can't do it over the air. It sucks....

My bad - I assumed (oops) that *228 worked for all CDMA carriers. Wow.

No magic number for us poor Sprint customers, either. CS via email (whatever the name for it is) is fairly responsive for setting up PRL updates, however.

In the phone application, type #4357* then the enter button. Scroll down to see PRL version.

By magic "number" do u mean a fone # to call to speak to a rep? Or do u mean to get a PRL ota? To get a PRL over the air for Sprint u dial *2. I have upgraded two 7250's on Sprint to evdo over the air. Do a search for PRL and Sprint you will see PLENTY of post about it.

Oh, I've dialed *2 plenty, but I've always had to request a PRL update from a live person after dialing. I gave up bothering with it about 6 months ago. Is there a new fully-automated way to do the update? None of the Sprint reps I ever spoke to about it mentioned such a thing.

I save SEARCHING to solve problems. The PRL thing is just an inconvenience to me. EVDO is about 60 miles away and of no use at the moment.
