I there, just got 8703e today, and there is no browser, how do I get it to display on the home screen?

Assuming you have a BlackBerry Data Plan on your account, go to Options / Advanced / Host Routing Table.

Click the trackwheel and select "Register Now".

just called sprint, the dope in the store never added a data plan, hence the lack of a browser...DUH On the phone w/cust care adding it now. No wonder I couldnt enterprise acivate. Its been driving me nuts all day...

Im new to BB and my 8703e (Verizon) doesn't have the browser either. Customer care supposedly sent the "service books" to my phone manually but it didn't seem to do anything. What did the rep tell you they were doing to add the browser to your BB? I wonder why the icon isn't there to begin with?

The icon isn't there because the browsing function is controlled by your carrier. They only add the functionality via a Service Book upon the BB successfully validating and logging into their network AND the RIM network.

Did you try to Register Manually using the method outlined in the second posting here (by me).. Host Routing Table/Register Now?

Thanks for the quick reply! I did try it (twice) but without success. I did get a msg in my inbox each time saying my handheld has been registered with the wireless network but nothing changes. I suppose ill call vzw again.
