Default Migrating to a 7100i

Please Login to Remove!

Hey All,
I am a long time Windows Smartphone/PDA user (Currently use a Treo 700w & Nextel i930), and am probally going to get a Blackberry 7100i this weekend, as the i930 just dosen't cut it anymore. How easy is it to migrate everything over from Outlook? Also, how easy is the learning curve, for the OS?

Thanks!

I know the 7100's are very easy to learn I had never touched a smartphone untill I got mine and after 2 days of playing around I have it figured out. Never been much of a manual reader. As for the email I havent had to do that yet so i dont know GL

Welcome to the BB Forums ..... the Search Feature can be your best friend.

The learning curve shouldnt be hard as you are already a PDA user. I migrated from a basic palm device to my 7100i with no problems. There is plenty of FAQ's & information here in the forums. Just search & read the may threads the longtime power users have put together here.

If you already have everything in outlook, it will be easy to import. On your first Intellisync, just set the option for Outlook to write everything to the BB. Then just normal syncing from there.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry7100i/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/103)

I migrated from an i930 to a 7100i. The suretype is much much easier to use. With my i930 I rarely if ever sent email from my phone. Now I almost exclusively use my blackberry for email. The only thing that I think was dufficult was installing programs. It was easy with the smartphone to just drag and drop. With the blackberry it has to be done through the desktop software.

So after all that my conclusion is that I would never go back to a smartphone again. I would say the learning curve would be about 2 weeks. Hope this helps!
