Default Missing TCP option

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,
I have a 8707v running ver 4.1.1.9 desktop manager and 4.1 system software. I have a 3rd party application (NotifyLink) to collect mail form our mail server(Mdaemon) but have being hit with serious data charges as I was connecting using WAP. My contact in Vodafone (Ireland) says I need to modify TCP settings in Advanced Options to connect differently but this option is not available. My BB is internet only with the basic blackberry.net package (25/month). I have searched through the forums and the only things I see mentioned is that the software has to be greater than ver 3.8 and one other post mentions that a data bundle is needed for this option to be available. Can anyone tell me why TCP is not available? Thanks in advance,
Poco

A separate TCP stack isn't yet supported on the 8707v - a technical problem apparently that may be resolved in the latest builds of the OS software. However I don't believe Vodafone have released this software yet - although you can go out and find the latest version of 4.1 for the 8707v and load it on your BB to see if you get the TCP options (see thread in RIM Software forum for list of system downloads for different providers).

Thanks for your responses. I tried updating but it still didn't appear. My provider is working on trying to push out the settings to my device. I will let you know how I get on. Thanks again.
