Unhappy 8700c Stuck on GSM

Please Login to Remove!

Was wondering if anyone else on the Cingular Network is stuck on GSM? Should be EDGE....I've tried turning wireless ON/OFF, taking battery out and reboot, taking SIM and battery out and reboot etc...

Anyone experiencing the same or have any other tips or suggestions?

I'm really trying not to phone cingular......

Thanks in advance!

have you checked with Cingular to see if there is any EDGE outage in your area?

well, EDGE is the data connection. Do you normally get the EDGE signal? If yo normally do get it, but you don't get it today, it is most likely the Cingular issue. you gotta call them or wait till the signal EDGE shows up.

by the way, did you even get the lower case edge sign?

Normally get EDGE...first time I've ever had GSM in a EDGE area sort of speak. No never got the lower case edge...when searching for network it goes straight to GSM.

I'll try Jungleland's suggestion first before calling. Thanks again for responding and the help!

Unable to re-register routing table since I don't have data coverage while on GSM.

Unable to resend service books for the same reason.

Is there another way to do it without having data coverage currently?

Not true...

Go to your BIS web client, on your computer and SEND SERVICE BOOKS..

Re registering the HRT has nothing to do with EDGE or GSM...

If I re register from the HRT Editor I receive the following message" Registration message queued. It will be sent once data coverage is available".

Unable to open BIS page due to the following message "You are not currently in a area that can handle communication. AS a result the browser cannot retrieve any web pages".

Now as far as re-registering and sending service books from my PC and NOT my BB i'm not sure how to go about that?
