I'm new to the forum and to BB. My 7100i should be here tomorrow (10/10) from Nextel.
Right now I have the i930 (smartphone from Nextel) I was wondering if anybody knows how I can get my contacts from my 930 to my BB? Do I have to copy each one by hand or is there away to copy all of them all at one time, from the 930 to the BB? Thanks for any help.
Eddie
PS. Great forum , I've been learning from it.....
and I hope I posted this in the right section.

Add the Address Book feature to your i930 and then upload your contacts to the web. Then you can download them into a .csv format and import them into Outlook or whatever you're device will sync with.

Oh yea, that's the easy way. I've been away from the forum for too long. Put your SIM into the new Blackberry, go into the Address Book, click the wheel and click 'copy SIM contacts', or something like that.

Can't wait until this latest project is done and work returns to normal....

That's what I tought I could do! But with the 930 (so called smartphone)
doesn't store the contacts to the sim card. It stores them to the phone.

Sync your i930 with Outlook using the ActiveSync software that came with it (if you don't have it you can get from Microsoft). Once you get the 7100i you can then sync it with Outlook and upload your contacts. Or, you can actually write to the SIM in your i930 using the SIMManager application on it, then transfer to them in the 7100i that way. Either way works well, but syncing with Outlook is probably faster.

Thanks I just copied my contacts into Outlook using ActiveSync.
But as I was looking over the list I noticed that none of
my Direct Connect (PTT) numbers were copied. The name is there
but not the DC number. So I guess I'll still have adding by hand to do...
Again thanks for the help

In Outlook while looking at a contact, there should be a listing for a radio number. You can enter the DC number for each contact in Outlook under that listing and re-sync it, so at least this way you're not using the phone's keypad to do it.
