Default False Message Indicator On Bb8700

Please Login to Remove!

Hi

Have a user complaining that on his BB8700 he is showing 1 message unread. when he checks his mail items all of them are read. he has checked all sub folders and again the same results. he has also checked outlook client (2003) for unread messages - no luck there

has anyone seen this behaviour ? no other users affected.

we are using BES V4.0 & exchange 2003.

many thanks

He needs to look through the messages mailbox, not just the email icons. I had a old message way down the list "missed call" that showed up like this and took me a while to figure out/ find.

I had this problem once, too. I had checked absolutely everything, from inbox to missed calls to SMS/MMS... Nothing...
I just turned my device completely (!) off and on again and the one message was gone...

thanks for the tips guys. will give these a go. i was thinking that if all else fails then i might try a "wipe" & re-activation. seems a bit drastic though

Before doing a wipe, just try pulling the battery and doing a hard reset. That might clear some false memory of a message.

Have him check the "Saved Messages" folder. He may have inadvertently saved an unread copy before he deleted it from the main mailbox.
