Hi
I was wondering if there are any major differences between the BB 7130c and the BB 7130g. As per my knowledge, the former is usually used for Cingular networks and the latter is in use in Canada, UK, Australia etc. I need to send a BB to India and would like to know if I will have more choices if I opt for either a 7130c or g. Both phones are quadband. Is there any other specification I need to look into?
Thanks in advance!
Lavanya
They look a little different, but in essence they are the same. The c version may be locked to Cingular, so you should check that. Be sure that no matter which you send to India, it is unlocked. The g version is also sold by TMobile in the US. My guess is that TMobile locks their berries too.
I got my 8700c unlocked by Cingular when i went to ireland this summer. All it took was a phone call to the international dept at Cingular.
according to blackberry the 7130g is sold on Cellular One, Cincinnati Bell, Dobson Cellular and SunCom Wireless
I would recomend buying one that is unlocked so you can use it on any carrier, this will also help when going international because you can purchase prepaid sim cards to limit roaming charges.
the 7100g was a cingular bb, but the 7130c is now the current cingular suretype blackberry.
