Question Sync Problems

Please Login to Remove!

A coworker is trying to sync his blackberry with Microsoft outlook. The problem we are running into is when we try to configure the sync options (calendar, address's, etc) it does not allow him to. When we try to browse for a folder it will not allow him to until he picks an outlook profile and we can't pick a profile because there are no profiles to pick from. Please help.

The Desktop Manager uses intellisync which may have been corrupted. Suggest that you reinstall Desktop Manager. I had experienced these before.

What BB model, desktop version, handheld version, outlook are you uusing?

I'll give it a try. The BB Model is a 7100i, desktop version is v4.0, hand held 4.1, an outlook is 2002. I have no problem using my phone on my computer, but when I go to my coworkers computer that is where I have the problem.

Then I strongly suspect it it the Desktop Manager -> Intellisync. Reinstalling should work, a better solution is to upgrade by installing the Desktop verison 4.2 out there, it is more stable than the version 4.1

I took another look at it today and reinstalled the desktop manager and still came up with nothing. I did find out from our IT department that he has a roaming profile so he can check his outlook e-mail, calendar, and etc from any computer. Would that affect it at all, i noticed that he does not have a profile set up on his computer.

Desktop Manager 4.2 works much better

4.1 had many problems with outlook 2007 and 4.2 fixed it right up... no problems at all

Thanks for all the help. I was finally able to get the BB to sync. I ended up creating a new profile and the deleting it once the BB DM recognized the profile.
