On the BB7520 you go into the calendar create a new appointment and push the track wheel and it will give you the option to invite attendees.

I have an 8700g. In the New Appointment section when you click the wheel, there should be a choice that says Invite Attendee. I am on a BES, not sure if you are or not.

I believe that option is ONLY available with BES.

I have BIS and Invite Attendee, etc., is NOT an option.

BES = Blackberry Enterprise Service
BIS = Blackberry Internet Service

BTW, I try not to answer a question that I do not know the answer to. It is pretty frustrating when someone on here gives an incorrect answer, because as we know, the answer is there for all to read and think is correct. If I don't know that my answer or response is correct, I usually state such.

BES is for an enterprise. Usually law firms or big businesses have this when they give their employees blackberry's.

KMCCarthy is correct. BES is mainly used by IT departments to seamlessly link systems like Microsoft exchange with your blackberry. E-mail, Calander, Task and other functions constantly update and syncronize between your blackberry and your computer. This is done behind your company firewall and works well I would not recomend trying to set this up yourself since it takes quite the IT effort. Below is some info on BES from the blackbery site.

"The BlackBerry Enterprise Solution™ provides a complete wireless platform that allows organizations to extend the benefits of their Microsoft® Exchange messaging application and other enterprise tools to mobile professionals.

BlackBerry Enterprise Server™ software is an important element of the BlackBerry Enterprise Solution. It is designed to provide IT departments with simplified management and centralized control of wireless devices in a secure, scalable and flexible architecture.* "

You can opt for hosted BES service with companies like MailStreet, Link2Exchange, etc (search Google for hosted BES). However, note that in addition to the hosted BES and Exchange fees -- typically about $20/month -- you'll need to pay the additional cost for a BES data plan with your carrier.

The meeting requests are really an Exchange feature more than a BES vs BIS, IIRC.
