Default Back to BB, is 8700V as good as R?

I recently sold my 8700r for an experiment with the new Nokias (E61 & E70). I also briefly owned a Pearl (for 24 hours) but couldn't stand the SureType! The Nokias are well made and extremely full featured but they're also very buggy, quite complicated, and also quite slow.

I am preparing a glorious return to a BB 8700 since I don't think I can wait for an 8800. I have found an unlockable 8700V but am wondering if there are any big differences between the V and the R?

As soon as the 8800's are released I'm sure the 8700's will plummet in price, so I don't want to buy another new one. I just can't wait to get back to the simplicity, speed and reliability of the BB platform.

Not many differences between the two at all besides Operating System. And with that you can upgrade to any 8700 OS available anyway. I'd say you'd be just as happy as you were with the 'R'.
