Default New 7100 user (on Cingular)

Please Login to Remove!

I'm a new 7100 user here. I have Cingular. I put my SIM card in and can make/receive calls great. Got my bluetooth headset set up so I can use it to receive calls as well.

o I put my SIM card in, but haven't figured out how to copy my phone book entries off the SIM into the Address book. When I select SIM Card, the only menu items available to me are New and Close.

o Is there an alternative way to add entries to the phone book, other than typing them in or syncing with Outlook? Is there a utility I could run on my PC that would give me the phone book interface and allow me to type my entries in and then send them to the 7100?

Probably simple answers to these questions, but i didn't find them looking through the FAQ. Maybe I missed the answers, if so I apologize.

Mike.

when you go to sim phone book you should have an option <copy all to address book>
i guess you may need a os upgrade if that option is not avaliable.

when you go to sync in desktop manger you will see a list op programs that can be used yo sync with bb, you can only use one of those.

Thanks Mike. That option is not available. An OS upgrade must be in order. I think it has 4.0.2 . Off to figure out how to upgrade the OS now.

Thanks.

Mike.

you will find it in Rim software section, you can use any provider OS but you may have to delete vendor.xml file so it lets you load it. probably best off to get 4.1

Hi Mike,
I got my new BB and trying to copy phone numbers from sim to phone so I used an option <copy all to address book> but when I go to address book there are no entries. Can you tell me whether I am missing something? or do I need to transfer those number by using computer...
