Hi there, new to the forums. I inherite my dad's old work phone (7290 I believe it is) and I love it, I don't think I can ever go back to a non-qwerty keypad before. Either way, my handset has recently started to delete all my SMS'. Like not just deleting the least recent the whole message bank. And to add insult to injury it deletes the next couple of messages recived. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated, as it WAS my dad's phone so I don't know what settings he had it on.

How much free memory do you have? Whem items start disappearing it means you've run out of space.

Go to options -> Status to see the free file space.

If it shows zero, or close to zero, you have to delete some programs.

yeah it's not a memory problem. and it's not a periodic thing either, it is at random times and deletes EVERYTHING including the next messgaes I recieve/send. It's highly annoying as I usually need previous messgaes as reference points for random reasons.

any help would be appreciated... .also I believe it's a 7230 not a 7290.
