Email delay on my blackberry.net address
I have a Verizon 8703 and am in Portland, OR. A couple of days ago, I started noticing a 10 minute delay on my email messages to my handheld. Now it is up to an hour (I automatically have all email sent to 2 addresses and have also tested this separately).
Anyone else have issues? Tech support has no known outage info and I just had service books resent plus re-registered.
I owuld love to figure out what happened and how to fix it.
try taking out the battery, and also resending ur service books. its worth a shot.
Thanks for replying. I did both, no improvement. I have had this happen only once in the last 2 years on my BB and it was a service issue with Verizon. Any Portland users not on exchange that are using the blackbeery.net address so I can rule out service issues?
I am on Vodafone in the UK and have had the same problem for the last 8 days i have reported the problem to Vodafone Tech support and have done several different tests on the account and even changed the blackberry from 8700v to an 7290 and the problem is still there, so they contacted rim as the problem is with the blackberry account talking to the rim server, after a long 8 days the problem is fixed, so i would advised you to contact you provider
I've found that most delays are caused by issues with the RIM servers... Of course, it always seems like they are having issues on days when I am out of the office and waiting for important emails!
i had major email issues on my BB over the past weekend. TMO opened a ticket with RIM and RIM helped me to work out the issue.
I received a status from RIM saying email could not be delivered to my blackberry.net email address; and the yahoo and gmail worked. the tech support asked me to remove the blackberry.net address; re-added it; and tried.
it worked after i readded it.
Thanks - not that I am happy there are others sharing my pain, but I appreciate your feedback and it helps knowing there is probably something up on the server side. I spent an hour with Verizon who swore that it was my mail server (where i was sending the messages from). Of course, it did not help that when he sent a message it came right through!
I get a second copy of every work email sent to my blackberry.net address. I am up to almost a 2 hour delay. And this is from everyone - so I know it is more than my server. I have had random people outside my company (or state) email my blackberry directly with still this notable delay.
I am elevating with Verizon. Will try and remove and readd the address - did you do that in the BIS web client?
The best test you can do to determine if it's your company's exchange server would be to send two emails from an outside account. One directly to you @vzw.blackberry.net account, and another to your work account taht forwards to the same @vzw.blackberry.net account.
If the direct email arrives right away, and the one addressed to your work email lags quite a bit behind, there is a decent chance that it's something that you need to bring up with your IT department.
try re-registering the blackberry, under options-advanced-host routing table. also remove and re-add the account. hopefully that will help.
rim has been having issues the last few days i have been told by vzw.. lots of people have been having connectivity issues.. i agree with jgb@etree check to see if it is your forwarding or vzw email address.. then go from there
Have VZW data support escalate to RIM and submit a ticket. Its the only way it will get resolved. There were similar issues back in June/July. All the BIS servers are under RIM's control.
