4 issues with 8703e or Zen - not sure which

Default 4 issues with 8703e or Zen - not sure which

I have a new 8703e with the Zen theme.

My 8703e has a separate folder for sms messages? I came from a 7520 and any text messages were shown in the same page with regular emails. Is there a way to have the sms show in the regular folder

I'm getting an SMS every time I have a voicemail. This is kind of a PITA, anyone know of a way to shut this off?

My home screen shows an icon when I have voicemail and an icon when i have sms messages, but there is no icon for regular emails on my home page. I have to go into the messages folder, and then there's an icon.
Anyone know of a way to change this?

No "c" for compose from home screen, is there a fix for this?

I don't think you can disable this without turning off voicemail notification within the network (at least I have yet to figure out how); however, then you wouldn't get the voicemail waiting icon either.

Again, this is built into the Zen theme. The Messages icon should show a red star when a new message arrives but I beleive this is the only visual indicator.

Mark Rejhon created a small application called Quick Compose to return the "c"ompose shortcut. If you search the forum you should be able to find a link for an OTA installation.

Any 87xx Zen install will work. There are OTA links here in the forums.

I loaded QuickCompose onto my 8703e and tested with a few different themes. Pressing "C" from the Home screen now starts a new SMS message ...

I loaded the c for quick compose, but it doesn't work. Is anyone actually successfully using quickcompose on an 8703e?

Worked here. Try disabling dial from home screen in general options under phone prefs.

yeah, me too. I just came from a 7520 where I could press c from the home screen, so I continue pressing c, then m + c.
