Default BlackBerry 8703e questions...

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

This is my very first BlackBerry device (the BlackBerry 8703e) and i'm having fun with it. I have a question though, I receive a lot of text messages and I was wondering, how would I be able to change the ring or alert to a different one? I can't seem to find that feature. Thanks for the help!

Welcome to BB Forums.

Go into the Profiles app; you will find setting there to change the alert for text messages, and for many other events...

Good luck.

Hopefully you won't consider this spam - but I thought you as a newbie might be interested. If you're on the Sprint/Nextel with the 8703e, you can get some neat GPS applications, such as Spot (general navigation) or Naggie (location-aware reminders).

What I did was set the alert for Messages to silent, and then set up the filters so that any messages sent to certain accounts would be flagged as Level 1, and then I'd be alerted.
