Default Get 'Em While They're HOT! 8700g Vodafone Housings

Please Login to Remove!

$50 for a complete housing that includes the speaker and front screen cover. The pics look top-notch, I already snagged one up. It looks real nice.

This is the ONLY housing I have found that fits an 8700g. If you've been looking for this, it JUST went up on eBay, the dude has 10 available (well 9 now!), so I wanted to post it for anyone who wants an 8700g housing.

eBay: New BlackBerry 8700g housing faceplates (item 160045597434 end time Nov-26-06 18:23:51 PST)

Any suggestions as to where to get a matching keyboard/keypad? I'd love to switch to the Vodafone housing but am afraid the dark blue keyboard/keypad would ruin the look.

Thanks for that. I think my 8700c is way too new to risk a possible futile attempt at changing the housing. The last think I need is to void the warranty and be out $450. Maybe I'll snag one and save it for when I get insurance. :P

Keep in mind the 8700c has a different keypad than the 8700g. See the Switching Housing thread for all the info. As I posted there:

8700g, 8700v, 8703e - keypad with pointy bottom row

8700c, 8700r, 8707v - keypad with more rounded bottom row

And as I said, the ones I linked at the top of this thread fit an 8700g (look at the NUM and CAP button openings on the bottom row).

As far as a replacement keypad, I haven't found a site for those. I will be using my T-Mo 8700g keypad. Sure, a little goofy, but my housing is so nasty from all the scrapes and drops that I want a new one real bad. I also ordered a skin case and holster from Seidio, so that should protect it (which I wish I'd done when it was new!).

Wink 8700C to 8707V Swap

I did a housing swap, 8700C to 8707V for a friend. Its a clean fit but the 8700C keypad seems like it needs to stand taller (meaning it almost flush to the housing).

So, if anyone knows of where you can get a 8707V keypad, let me know!

One more thing....The 8700C holster cannot work with the 8707V. That sucks!
