haha, no worries man. You can also go to Profiles, click the trackwheel and Create New Profile. that way, you can customize ALL variations of when the thing rings and when it doesnt.

Default Creating and Editing Profiles

Another Newbie to the 8703c here. 90% of the time, I only want to be alerted for phone calls, not messages. Sometimes I'll want calls to ring, sometimes to vibrate, and sometimes I want everything to be muted. Has anyone prepared a chart of the various alerts default pre-set profiles? Ie, the difference between "Quiet" and "Off"?

I set up a separate "Loud Phone only" profile, but I found it tedious to scroll thru each function other than phone calls and mute them. I wanted to create a separate "Vibrate Phone Only" profile, but isn't there some easier way than setting the alert type for each fucntion in and out of the holster. Is there any way to copy the "Phone Only" profile and then just change the alert type for phone calls?

If not, what are the alert defaults for newly created profiles as well as each of the pre-set profiles on the 8703?

It seems like this is the one clunky part of the interface --- if someone can direct me to some tips or documenation I'd appreciate it. It just seeems like I should be able to temporarily modify the alerts for messages etc. without having to create a new profile.

Thanks in advance. I tried to find the answer myself by search

Blackberry goes to all the trouble to allow us to customize this a 1000 different ways, way more than any other phone on earth and we do not want to take a minute to create a new profile?
