I guess it was to do with one of the two options I was presented with during the Desktop Software install. I cannot remember what the two options were but they were talking about BES servers, etc. I think I chose the top one!

Is there some way of stopping these messages? I've read an early post but it references v4.0 of the software and am I having problems correlating its advice against v4.2

The Blackberry belongs to a friend who is working abroad, so remotely supporting it difficult, please bear this in mind where offering advice.

It is a UK sourced Blackberry 8700 with a Vodafone contract.

Kind regards.

Andrew

IIRC, that is a RIM network "fly-catcher" message which is related to the ude of the desktop redirector. I believe diabling the desktop redirector (assuming that you do not use it) will correct this issue.
