Default Verizon 7250 stopped vibrating ... sort of

About a week ago I noticed that I wasn't getting calls and/or being alerted to new e-mails -- but it turned out that my vibration wasn't working.

Yesterday I contacted Verizon and they offered to send me a refurb for $50 (since I'm almost three months out of warranty). I said fine.

Then, today, about a week later, it started vibrating again.

Anybody have this happen? Should I hang in with original or take the refurb?

I've run into it with my 7250. It would seem it's caused by dust inside the case jamming the motor. At least that's what I had read. For me, a light tap dislodged the motor and it started working again.

Thanks Homis,

Good to know that others have experienced this. The replacement refurb just arrived and I'm leaning toward returning it to save the $50 for when I really need it.

The refurb, by the way, looks like new. One difference: the thumbwheel is harder to turn. Mine is too easy (I'm often pressing in as it's sliding to something I didn't want), but this replacement is downright stiff.

Something in-between would be nice. In the meantime, I'll keep my original as long as it's vibrating again.
