Default Got My 8703e Sprint! Yay! Help....

Please Login to Remove!

Finally....after waiting for them to get it in stock. Just got it home and it had a weird message...."The connection is weaker than your prefrences settings. Continue? Yes or No?"
I'm paraphrasing a bit but that was the basic message. Any thoughts?
Also...do I have to wait a while to get a "pin" number? Or do I have to send the service packet to get the pin?

Forgive me...I am coming from a Treo...so I don't want to mess this up.

Will have to go to the Mac forum about connecting it with PocketMac later but want to set it up first correctly before I dive into another potential headache.

To be honest, I am not sure what your questions are, but I will try.

I have never heard of the message you've gotten. Perhaps others have.

The PIN is associated with the BB and can not be changed, downloaded or anything else. The PIN is there - check in Options / Status.

Check out the manual that came with the BB - you are going to have to set up an E-Mail address for the 8703 to get started.

Hope that helps.

Do I set up my e-mail with Enterprise activations? That's the only option I see. I'm just using it for personal e-mail. No Business server.

I'm also assuming that my web browser will pop-up once I activate my e-mail?

** DO NOT USE ENTERPRISE ACTIVATION ** That is only for BB users who are on a BlackBerry Enterprise Server (generally corporate).

There should be an icon on the screen labeled Setup Internet E-Mail.

What does it show at the top of the screen? EVDO? Data Connection Refused?

Go Ruggers.

1x and not 1X?

Do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan on your account - it must be a BlackBerry Data Plan.

Your account may not be provisioned properly. It must show *at a minimum* 1X..

it is 1x. I did sign up for the Blackberry Data Plan. Maybe they didn't do it right?

Call them back and make sure they have set you up for a BlackBerry Data Plan. Once it is provisioned, you should get a bunch more icons on the screen. Until then, no way.

Ok...NJBlackberry. They had me got to option-network-start provisioning. That popped up my web browser(s). I think I might be on my way
